MORE THAN JUST A STREETLIGHT!

Opening the streetlighting platform for networked light control and the future of Smart City applications, IoT, Edge Processing and 4G/5G Small Cell technology.

This will presentation will focus on developing the previously undeveloped “vertical real estate” of the top of the streetlight.  Through the power of the NEMA socket, our nation’s streetlight infrastructure is converging with the telecommunication industry to provide a connected backbone or platform over which Smart City applications and small cell technology can travel.

This seminar will focus on the streetlight system as a dynamic, already existing infrastructure that can be leveraged to rapidly and cost effectively bring Smart City, IoT, Edge Processing and Small Cell deployment to market.  Thus bringing solutions to our communities to make them more livable, workable and sustainable places to live.

About the Speaker:   Keith Tyson is the Northeast Area Sales Manager for Ubicquia and has responsibility for a large section of the Great Lakes region.  Keith graduated from Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL with a Bachelors of Arts in Political Science.  He worked in the Erie County, NY legislature and moved to a career with a consulting firm that audited utility and telecom bills for errors and cost reductions while then securing refunds from the utility and telecom companies. In addition, he ran commodity procurement efforts of the electric and gas commodities as well as developing a GIS auditing service that prepared municipalities for street light retrofits to LED technology.  His years of working with municipalities and streetlight systems led him to Ubicquia with the vision of turning streetlight systems into communication platforms.
